So today, as I was strolling into our pantry there was a stench creeping out to say hello to me. Then I told Emily and Jenny about it, but the stench did not come out to say hello. Ashtyn and Julia came home, and Ashtyn could smell the stench. Ashtyn said, "Ulch! What is that smell??" Emily then said, "You know, potatoes smell really bad when they are rotting." I was trying to think about if I had any potatoes and I remembered that I did have some. Even though I had some, I thought they wouldn't be rotten because they weren't even a week old. WRONG! I had some potatoes in a bag and they were rotten! I picked up the bag, while Jenny was standing right there, and the juices began to ooze out. Oh man, was it DISGUSTING! There was potato juice all over the floor and our whole apartment smelled of rotten potatoes. Don't you be worried though! I sprayed bleach and said that they were mine, so it is OK.
What do we learn from this lesson?? Well, I learned that keeping potatoes in a tied plastic bag in the pantry isn't such a grand idea. I will keep my potatoes out where they can receive ventilation and in a cool place.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful night!
Until next time,
Anna!
